I did some Internet news reading recently and stumbled upon a series of articles and columns about the game Second Life. I thought, “another graphical MMORPG / ‘Sims’ clone that’s getting hype.” Well, in some ways I still think so, though this Wired column about copyright issues in the game caught my interest.

From Jennifer Granick’s column, “Businesses in Second Life are in an uproar over a rogue software program that duplicates ‘in world’ items.” So basically they have a DRM issue in a virtual world. Hah.

I’ll still feel like I’ve got enough going on in my real life that I can’t justify playing this game… but I concede that it will be interesting to see how people handle real-life issues in alternative ways.
